What are teletherapy and telepsychiatry?

Both are types of telehealth. Teletherapy and telepsychiatry are the delivery of therapeutic services through live video or telephone calls. At Kairos Psychiatry, to ensure your privacy we utilize secure and confidential video calls for all appointments.

What are the benefits of telehealth?

You are not alone, there is hope.

1 in 4 Americans has a mental health challenge.

There is a growing demand for telehealth to provide accessible mental health services for those who have difficulty setting aside time in their busy schedule to attend in-office appointments. Telehealth offers secure and convenient health services. Research has shown it can be just as effective as traditional in-office services and can often improve access to care by eliminating geographical restriction and travel times.

Telepsychiatry and teletherapy are often used by traveling professionals and professionals who can take a break during their workday, new parents who have difficulty leaving a new baby or finding child care, college students, or for those who may find difficulty locating a therapist, psychiatrists, or psychiatric nurse practitioner in their community that specializes in a specific area.

What to expect at your online appointment:

You’ll be given a link to join a secure and encrypted video meeting room. All you need are a secure internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone. If you do not have a webcam, you can use the free app to use your cell phone’s camera and call-in through your phone. It’s that easy!

In between your appointments, you can message your provider directly through your patient portal, schedule your next appointment, and request medication refills.

We have providers licensed to provider teletherapy and telepsychiatry in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and New Hampshire
